**Your Role**
To lead the profitable growth and management of the Casualty Underwriting team within VIC.

**Your Responsibilities**
- **_Achievement of the Casualty financial budget _**:

- **_Underwriting Profit _**:

- Developing and implementing the team's business plan; in conjunction with Casualty Management to achieve the targeted Rate and Loss ratio
- **_Premium Growth _**:

- Meeting growth objectives of business plan including New Business, Rate & Retention targets.
- **_Sales & Marketing _**:

- Implement effective business development strategies to achieve financial targets and build long term relationships with Producers, Insureds and Independent Brokers
- **_Underwriting Quality & Integrity _**:

- Ensure the team's adherence to appropriate underwriting standards
- **_Staff Development _**:

- Motivating, developing and leading your team to best do their role
- **_Expense Control and Service Standards _**:

- Managing the Commission Plan and negotiating with producers to achieve budgeted Commission levels

**Your Skills & Experience**
- Thorough Underwriting knowledge in Casualty
- Proven record of successful underwriting management of a portfolio of Casualty business
- Proven record of successful growth of profitable specialty business, through both new business and renewal growth
- Business acumen with strong market knowledge and networks
- Demonstrated effective leadership skills and strong relationship skills
