This position resides in the Data Governance section of the Data Program (within the Data and Digital Group) and leads the Data Quality Control Team. The Data Quality Control Team plays a key role in guiding the data quality control methods for the Bureau's high quality data sets. A major focus is preserving the quality and integrity of the data in the Bureau's Climate database, using a variety of manual and automatic techniques and processes.

The primary function of the Data Quality Lead is to set the direction of the team and align the team's deliverables and associated key performance indicators (KPIs) with the needs of its customers.

A champion of best practice in data quality control, the Data Quality Lead will actively work to uplift data quality control processes within the Bureau. This will be done through engaging with other Bureau teams to demonstrate the benefits associated with quality controlling their data and assisting them to recognise and develop their data quality needs.

The Data Quality Control Lead is also responsible for the development of all staff within the team and ensuring that their skills and experience align with the current and future direction of the team in the provision of data quality services.
