Service Development Manager

About the role
The Service Development Manager is the conduit that brings the strategic priorities, operational business and clinical elements of Prison Health Services (PHS) together to ensure the provision of high quality consumer care and achievement of agreed key performance indicators. This role supports the Nursing Director - PHS to translate strategic direction into operational deliverables. It leads on the coordination, implementation and evaluation of multiple service improvement projects across the business unit and ensures effective governance systems are in place. It is responsible for the effective management of significant contracts and Service Level Agreements within PHS.
About you
- Demonstrated high-level project management skills and experience, with a proven record of success in service development, improvement and performance management, in a health leadership/management role within a contemporary organisational environment.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement innovative and contemporary models of care that address strategic priorities, key performance indicators, population healthcare requirements and external factors impacting on current and future resourcing.
- Demonstrated knowledge or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of the prison health system, service development and planning challenges and factors impacting on resource management and provide service development advice accordingly.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change and develop services within a multi-disciplinary team, to enhance consumer focused service delivery and implement innovative solutions and strategies to achieve outcomes responsive to consumer needs.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills to engage stakeholders to ensure the efficient provision of a quality consumer focussed service and the ability to delegate appropriately to maximise the skills of staff.
- Highly developed written communication skills to effectively lead the development of briefs, board papers, reports and evaluations to provide strategic advice, develop services and drive prison health reform.
**Mandatory Requirements**:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Vaccinated against COVID-19 as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO.12/21and the Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
