UExcel Medical are currently assisting a major Tasmanian hospital with the recruitmentt of several Medical Registrar opportunities.

The hospital is level 3 with RACP.

The medical registrar positions provide opportunities for those seeking accredited Basic Physician Training. They pride themselves on a strong BPT training programme

The BPT level registrar positions can also provide medical training opportunities for suitable applicants from non BPT pathways including those with backgrounds in Critical Care or with a longer term interest in Community Primary Care.

The Department of General and Internal Medicine is the largest inpatient medical unit. On average, they admit 15-20 patients each day across 4 General Medical Teams.

Medical Registrars are involved in the full spectrum of Acute Care from admission to discharge with the support of a multi-disciplinary team.
For those BPTs who require it in order to meet College Training needs, we also have opportunities for subspecialty rotations as well as a Regional rotation to the North West Regional Hospital in Burnie.

Presently the Department of General Medicine has 16 Staff Specialists, mostly in part-time roles. Each unit has two Basic Training Registrars and 2 Junior Medical Officers (Intern or RMO), and 2-3 consultants.

We also currently have training opportunities and positions for **Advanced Trainee Registrars **in General Medicine
- which is ideal for those who have completed BPT requirements and are interested in pursuing a career as a General Physician (or in Dual Training alongside another area of interest)

There are now 8 Advanced Training positions in General Medicine rotate through General Medicine and other sub-specialty positions such as stroke, respiratory medicine, cardiology, gastroenterology, and nephrology.

**Salary**
TAS AWARD RATE - $131,000 - $183,500 per annum

**Period of Employment**
Fixed term, full time day work, 80 hours per fortnight, commencing ASAP. Note: 24-month appointment may be negotiable for suitable applicants.

**Essential Criteria**:

- **Current AHPRA registration** - MUST HAVE GENERAL/provisional or limited REGISTRATION
- Current working VISA or 482 sponsorship available
- Must be able to commence **by Feb 2025
