Provide financial counselling & assistance to consumers

**Your new role**:
As a Financial Counsellor, you will deliver high-quality financial counselling by providing information, practical assistance, and advocacy to help improve clients’ financial situations.

You will support clients as they navigate financial crises and work with them to build long-term financial wellbeing, capability, financial literacy and resilience. You will also facilitate referrals to other internal services and community support networks to ensure your clients and families receive the comprehensive support they need.

**Your skills and experience**:

- Diploma of Financial Counselling
- Member of Financial Counselling Victoria
- Experience working with vulnerable clients and providing advocacy across a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Good understanding of Consumer Credit Law and Consumer Law.
- Knowledge of policies and practices of major creditors and the ability to identify the appropriate legislation which applies to particular debts.
- Sound knowledge of the relevant hardship policies, practices and services offered by relevant State and Federal Governments Departments, utility providers and other major creditors as appropriate to the consumer group.
- Knowledge of casework issues as related to the target group, including an awareness of financial hardship, family violence and cultural sensitivity.
