**Job Title**: Disability Support Worker Physically Active (Male Applicants Only)

**Position Overview**:
We are seeking a reliable, strong, and physically capable **male support worker** to join our team in providing high-quality care for a male NDIS participant with complex physical support needs. This is an active role that requires regular manual handling, personal care, and community engagement.

**Please note**: This position is open to **male applicants only** under Section 31 of the _Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW)_ due to the personal care and privacy needs of the male participant.

**About the Role**

As a support worker, you may be required to assist the participant with:

- Social and Community Access
- Daily living activities at home and in the community
- Transport to appointments and outings
- Personal care, including showering, toileting, and dressing
- Manual handling and mobility support (transfers using hoists and other equipment)
- Cooking meals, Assistance at meal times, Light household tasks
- Encouragement of independence and participation in meaningful activities

**What We’re Looking For**
- Physically fit and capable of undertaking frequent lifting, bending, and mobility support
- A proactive and compassionate approach to care
- Good communication skills and ability to follow care plans and routines
- Flexible availability (including some weekends, evenings and overnights)
- Friendly, team player but able to work autonomously.
- Punctual and reliable.
- Ability to speak Urdu, Parsi or Arabic will be highly regarded.

**Essential Requirements**
- Previous experience in disability or aged care support (NDIS experience highly regarded, in particular with mental health participants)
- Valid Australian Driver Licence and own reliable vehicle (with insurance)
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willing to obtain)
- Current First Aid and CPR certification (or willing to obtain)
- Manual handling training (or willingness to complete)
- Ability to prepare and cook meals
- Ability drive a disability van (9 seater)

The position is shiftwork, with rotating roster over seven days, which may include weekend work and public holidays, however the right person must have availability during the weekdays.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Casual, Temp to perm

Pay: $33.00 - $65.00 per hour

- Shift work

- Weekends only

Licence/Certification:

- First Aid Certification (preferred)
- Working with Children Check (required)
- NDIS Worker Screening Check (required)
- National Police Certificate (required)
- Driver Licence (required)

Work Authorisation:

- Australia (required)
