**About the opportunity**:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a **Water Infrastructure Officer** who is responsible for providing support and contributing to the activities undertaken by the Infrastructure Team of the Technical Regulation Branch which involves regulation of electricity, gas and water/sewerage infrastructure across the State.

The role will contribute to keeping the community safe from risks associated with water/sewerage infrastructure by developing, monitoring and enforcing technical standards. The role will provide competent professional advice concerning the safety and technical performance of water/sewerage infrastructure systems and contributes to safe and technically sound infrastructure for the benefit of South Australians.

The Office of the Technical Regulator (OTR) monitors and regulates the safety and technical standards for electrical, gas and plumbing installations, as well as electricity, gas, water and sewerage network infrastructure.

The OTR carries out an extensive range of activities. These activities oversee the administration, compliance and performance of individuals, businesses and organisations that operate in these industries. This is to protect the work, the workers, and the public.

**Key Selection Criteria**:

- Ability to work independently or as a team member, under limited direction, identify performance outcomes, plan activities and set priorities to achieve critical objectives within deadlines.
- Ability to communicate effectively and express ideas clearly and coherently, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to develop productive working relationships with peers, staff and stakeholders by initiating contact, building rapport, understanding needs and delivering to expectations.
- Ability to learn new skills and understand new ideas; learn quickly from feedback and from experience; seeking opportunities to expand knowledge.

**Qualifications**:
Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Science or related discipline are essential.
Relevant post-graduate studies and professional experience in the water/sewerage industry are desirable.

**Remuneration**:
PO1 contract until 30th June 2025, full-time role working 37.5 hours per week, PO1 salary range $68,478 to $83,594 + superannuation

**Special Conditions**:

- This is a contract/term vacancy up to 30th June
- A current driver’s licence is required.
- Intrastate travel with overnight absences may be required.
