**The Role**
As an APS 6 Contracting Officer, you will:

- Provide procurement, commercial and / or contracting advice and guidance on matters related to Australian Industry Capability (AIC).
- Assist with industry engagement activities.
- Assist in negotiations of contracts with suppliers and finalise AIC elements of contracts with clients.
- Undertake simple procurement and manage contracts on behalf of the branch where appropriate.
- Assist with preparing briefing material to support Ministerial meetings and events relating to the AIC program.

**About our Team**
Australian Industry Capability (AIC) Division supports Defence delivery on the Government’s policy direction to equip and sustain the ADF.AIC Division assists in developing new initiatives designed to drive behavioural change across Government, Defence and Industry to develop a deeper and broader sovereign industrial base while making Defence a stronger client.

Our team works closely with senior Defence Leaders and Minister’s providing advice on all aspects of AIC Delivery. AIC Division assists Defence to implement and enhance the AIC Program by providing advice and support to Capability and Project Managers. We work across Defence and with other federal agencies to implement the AIC program, drive exports through the creation of supply chain opportunities, run the Defence Industry Studies Course, and help Defence understand industry capability through the use of specialised tools.

Working with us will provide a unique opportunity to engage with Government and Industry on an important Government initiative, and an opportunity to develop or utilise your experience in public service and/or commercial acumen.
