**Our journey**

The **Victorian Heart Hospital** will be Australia’s first dedicated heart hospital and is nearing its final stages of construction. It will include a full range of ambulatory and inpatient cardiac care, including cardiac theatres, cardiac catheterisation laboratories, emergency, intensive care, and ambulatory services such as cardiac CT, echocardiography and specialist consultation. It will also feature a unique, patient centred model of care. The Victorian Heart Hospital will also play a key role in advancing research and teaching and will be home to the Victorian Heart Institute, a brand new, health and medical research organisation at Monash University.

As a Monash Health hospital, the **Victorian Heart Hospital** will be uniquely positioned to provide tailored cardiovascular care for all Victorians, and specialised life-saving procedures for our community. Upon completion, Australia’s first cardiac hospital will deliver a new Monash Health standard in model of care and patient care experience.

**A day in the life**

As an **Operating Theatre Technician** you will help to deliver high quality care across both interventional floors and key responsibilities will include.

transporting, setting up, cleaning and maintaining of theatre equipment as well as assist with the positioning of patients in the Operating Theatres, Interventional Suites and broader Operating Theatre Complex. The **Victorian Heart Hospital Operating Theatres** provide a Monday - Friday service that supports the Cardiac Services.
