About the Role
- Participate in the provision of the out of hours on call roster for clinical nephrology services at a registrar/fellow level. This commitment is generally on a 1 in 6 basis.
- Participate in the training and supervision of registrars, resident medical officers and medical students as set out in the addendum, Registrar's Role as a Clinical Teacher.
Your key responsibilities
- Fulfil the accountabilities and responsibilities of this role in accordance with Metro South's purpose and objectives, as outlined below.
- Provide appropriate evidenced-based clinical care.
- Actively conduct research in Nephrology.
- Demonstrate efficient utilization and management of resources as well as developing an awareness of budgetary issues to support hospital budgetary goals of cost containment and efficiency.
- Provide quality leadership based on evidenced-based practices and by demonstrating and enabling adequate communication to all stakeholders along the patient's continuum of care.
- Provide and enable for appropriate clinical care to patients, including delegating the provision of care through effective communication.
- Provide education through training seminars and tutorials to clinical staff.
