About the Role
- Actively participate in the renal and liver transplant teams, progressively acquiring capability in organ retrieval surgery including donation after brain death and donation after circulatory death operations, renal transplantation and liver transplantation.
- Participate in simple and complex vascular access for dialysis and the management of fistula revision.
- Ensure patients and other staff are treated fairly and with mutual respect and understanding, regardless of cultural, religious, ethnic and linguistic backgrounds.
- Lead and manage staff by fostering and committing to patient safety and quality in the delivery of health care by maintaining and evaluating safety and quality practices and initiatives.
- To provide ethical decision making in the achievement of organisational goals provide inpatient outpatient care by assessing patients, determining and instigating appropriate investigation
- Establish management plan for patients in consultation with the consultant
- Where appropriate, ensure discharge planning commences early in the process of care
- Communicate assessment findings, proposed management plans and alternatives to patientand carers and seek consent
