Children's Health Queensland provides services from key locations in the Brisbane metropolitan area and works with the 15 other hospital and health services as well as NGOs and charity partners in Queensland to deliver an integrated network of healthcare services and support across the state.
**Your Opportunity**:
The Central Sterilising Unit (CSU) processes reusable medical devices (RMDs) and equipment by cleaning, disinfection and sterilisation of RMDs prior to and between patient uses. CSU processes RMDs that can be used safely without risk of transmission of infectious agents. CSU utilises an electronic tracking system for traceability during reprocessing and subsequent use on patients undergoing surgical or invasive procedures.
The Assistant in Nursing (AIN) Sterilising Services practices as a member of the CSU with a variety of tasks in providing a service of reprocessing reusable surgical and medical equipment. The AIN Sterilising Services is responsible for providing efficient, effective sterilising practices according to best practice standards.
