**Casual Audio-Visual Technician**

Utilising your technical knowledge and customer service skills, provide professional and exemplary AV services for commercial and internal clients within a pre-eminent cultural institution. We are looking for Audio-Visual Technicians who are comfortable with audio, visual and hybrid event technologies. You will have flexible availability for event work, particularly during business hours. Finally, you will be able to work collaboratively with a friendly and dynamic team, ensuring events are safely and successfully delivered.

**What the opportunity is**:

- Employment with Museums of History NSW.
- Clerk Grade 3/4. Remuneration package includes salary ($79,032 - $86,539), employer's contribution to superannuation and annual leave loading. Casual salary equivalent to $43.48 - $47.39 per hour, exclusive of casual loadings and payment in lieu of annual leave.
- Casual employment.
- The role will work across Sydney.

**What we do**
MHNSW brings together the museums, historic houses and associated collections previously in the care of Sydney Living Museums with the vast collection of more than 13 million items held by the former NSW State Archives. This includes one of the world’s most complete and important collections documenting colonisation.

**What you’ll do with us**
This role will engage with external and internal clients to ensure the successful delivery of events involving audio visual equipment for commercial venue hire bookings at MHNSW’ properties and sites.

**What you need to do to apply**

**What you need to tell us - Targeted questions**:

- Describe an event that you were responsible for that had unexpected technical issues; How did you deal with these issues to make the event run smoothly, and what actions did you take to ensure the client was satisfied with the outcome?
- Describe a time when a client presented you with several types of display content, including video and PowerPoint slides; How did you manage this to ensure the delivery of a visually seamless production?

**Essential requirements of the role**
- Qualifications in Audio Engineering or demonstrated relevant experience coordinating and delivering detailed audio-visual requirements for events.
- Ability to manage and switch between various vision sources plus knowledge of presentation software, particularly Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Flexible approach to work schedule with the ability to work at various times and hours depending on booking requirements.
- Experience in delivering events within a corporate environment and in operating audio-visual equipment in theatrettes or auditoriums.
- Ability to manage lifting, carrying, standing, kneeling and moving around heritage sites both internal and external environments.
- Current NSW driver’s licence.
- Willingness to work across and ability to travel to multiple work locations.

**Also note**:

- A talent pool may be created for future ongoing and temporary roles and is valid for a period of up to 18 months.
