**About the Role**:
We are seeking a passionate and motivated Research Fellow or Research Associate to join our innovative research team to contribute to cutting-edge exposure science focused on environmental health risks, specifically in relation to air pollution and climate change hazards across Australia and Southeast Asia. This is a full-time 24-months contract lasting 24 months. This position offers a unique opportunity to play a key role in conducting health impact assessments and advancing our understanding of the effects of environmental changes on public health. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, leveraging your expertise in exposure science and spatial modelling to drive impactful research initiatives.

**Selection Criteria - who we are looking for**:

- A doctoral qualification or progress towards a doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline such as Environmental Science, Atmospheric Science, Climate Science, Geography, or a related field.
- Experience in exposure assessment and spatial modeling, with expertise in managing and analysing large datasets (particularly satellite and atmospheric chemistry data), data systems integration and complex workflow management, and strong programming skills in R, Python, GIS software, relational databases or similar tools.
- Evidence of substantial engagement with interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, and transdisciplinary research, demonstrated through leadership or significant contributions within cross-disciplinary research teams, co-authorship of research outputs that bridge multiple disciplines and integration of methods or insights across different fields.
- Evidence of research quality and impact through publication in high-quality refereed outlets, demonstrated by journal rankings, citation indices and other esteem measures.
- Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross-cultural sensitivity.

**Desirable**
- Familiarity with HIA methodologies is a plus, along with the ability to translate complex scientific findings into actionable insights for policy and practice.
- Commitment to capacity building for colleagues and students in the wider research group.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise HDR students.

**Role Requirements**:

- As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the duration of this role.
