**Focus Area: Core Systems (transaction/database)** - Latest technology, keeping platform & subsystems patched, supported, and up to date. Supporting our customers through collaborative design.
- Lifecycle management - RESVOL, HIPER, MCL, IODF, etc.
- Subsystem (Application) Capacity management
- Next-gen subsystem software IMS / MQ / DB2
- Promote/Support efficient Database coding practices

**Skills**:
**For squad members**:defining and designing new platforms, planning, and managing capacity to meet demand, and ensuring we are always running supported hardware and software. The key skills are:

- Change planning, management, scheduling and implementation
- Subsystem management/maintenance (IMS / MQ / DB2)
- Subsystem incident remediation (IMS / MQ / DB2)
- Mainframe API design/build/maintenance
- Application Database design/build/maintenance
- Subsystem critical patch analysis/install (HIPER mgmt.)

**Mainframe System Management**

**Purpose**

**Focus Area: Systems Management** - Reducing downtime through analyzing and improving our platform. Supporting our customers through collaborative design.
- Capability uplift - DR, Insite Recovery, HA, VIPA, redundancy, etc.
- Focus points for Recovery, Incident, and Problem management
- Delivering on key security technologies and initiatives such as ACF2, Syschange, CyberArk, Encryption
- Support Application customers to run efficient and sustainable code (CICS/Broker)

**Skills**
- Change planning, management, scheduling, and implementation
- Subsystem incident remediation (Automation / CICS / BROKER)
- Subsystem design/build/support (CICS/Broker/Automation)
- High availability system design and build
- DR strategy and design (system and subsystem levels)
- Automation of services (auto start/failover and alerting)
- Platform management for availability (design/build/support)
- Subsystem critical patch analysis/install (HIPER mgmt.)
- Security & compliance identification, reporting, and remediation at a system level
- User Access Management reviews
- Automated event management (alerting design/build/maintenance)
- Automation of subsystem availability (start/stop sequence, availability mapping)
- Automation of system availability (incl. start/stop sequence)
