**The Opportunity**:

- Lithgow City Council _has an exciting opportunity for a **Cleansing Unit Team Leader** to join their team in Lithgow, NSW.

Reporting to the Works Co-ordinator - Buildings, you will be responsible To protect the community health and amenity by implementation of best cleansing practice. This position operates to provide cleaning services directly to our community, Councillors, customers and the Council staff. This position, alongside their staff and supervisor, will be responsible for identifying, developing, resourcing, providing, supporting and measuring benefits to all stakeholders. The position holder shall be required to be on call and attend to duties after hours as and when required.

More specifically, your duties will include (but will not be limited to):

- Ensure cleanliness of Council and Community Buildings
- Identify and report improvements and works in service standards, maintenance requirements and other activities within area of responsibility and where required take immediate action.
- Conduct pre and post event facility inspections and report back too the supervisor and bookings coordinator
- Manage rosters and works schedules within area of responsibility and participate in the planning for the cleaning team including working with and assisting the cleaning team as required.
- Follow procedures required for the safe use of day to day cleaning industry chemicals using and following SDS.
- Provide General Administrative Support Services
- Ensure compliance with legislation and Council policy and procedure including Council’s Code of Conduct, Procurement, Risk Management and other relevant policies and legislations

**About you**:

- Certificate II in cleaning operations or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in the management of staff performance and development
- Well-developed interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to develop, review, and implement work schedules and agreed levels of service
- Ability and willing to work rostered overtime, weekends and public holidays
- Demonstrated experience in the safe use of cleaning industry chemicals
- Sound understanding and commitment to WHS and statutory requirements, quality standards and management systems
- Understanding of relevant practices and policies and legal and legislative requirements in this field
- General Induction for Construction Work Certificate (White card)
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of honesty and integrity
- Current Class C driver’s licence
- Current First Aid Certificate
- Knowledge of Safety Data Sheets register
- Demonstrated work performance and knowledge, skills and experience in cleaning assets associated with Local Government
- Experience in making suggestions for improvements to a quality management system or suggestions for other business improvements

- Between $1,089.38 and $1,203.43 per week, commensurate with your skills, qualifications and experience
- Permanent, Full-time 38 hours per week with weekend work required
