**This opportunity**

Infrastructure and Major Construction is a broad team with accountabilities that include Data Centre Operations and the Field Operation & Maintenance activities of TPG Telecom’s national fixed-line network.

The NSW Field Operations Manager is responsible for high quality outcomes as they oversee Field Operations activities in NSW & ACT. They are responsible for leading & managing multiple teams to support the operational, tactical and strategic business initiatives of TPG Telecom and they will provide insights & learnings to the greater Infrastructure and Major Construction department, so that all can benefit from continuous learning, and adapt to a dynamic and constantly changing environment.

**Responsibilities**
- This is a leadership role responsible for developing and implementing plans aligned to the functional strategy as set by your manager across Field Operations. This will include aligning strategic direction for the areas of expertise you are responsible for with the functional strategy.
- You play an important role in implementing the strategy through your operational team.
- You will lead the design, implementation, monitoring and improvement of the delivery and performance of systems, processes and services within your remit, to continuously improve organisational results.
- The role is responsible for managing an operational expense cost centre and a capital works funding allocation and the achievement of these budgets in support of business performance and growth
- You are responsible for the performance, growth and development of the teams and ensuring you role model appropriate behaviours through your leadership.
- You will be responsible for identifying and leading improvement opportunities within the team, as well as ensuring appropriate controls are in place to manage risks, including the protection of TPG systems and information.
- You will be responsible for internal relationships including with NOC & Operations, Corporate Help Desk, Sales, Customer Operations, Property, Procurement, Legal, Network & Infrastructure: Fibre Eng Services, Transmission, IP, CiNS, Core Network Applications; and Finance
- You will be responsible for external relationships including with Customers, Contractors, Consultants, Vendors, Other Carriers, Utilities and Property Owners

- Ensure that you and your team are familiar with policies and procedures, as well as completing any associated training, as communicated or made available on the intranet and our learning systems.

**Knowledge and experience**
- Telecommunications Certificate or Engineering Degree
- Professional management training (Diploma Frontline Management or equivalent) or organisational level management experience.
- Substantial experience in an operations telecommunications role
- Extensive knowledge of telecommunication networks including a sound knowledge of digital switching, transmission and fibre technology
- Advanced level of computer and Microsoft experience
- Sound ability to follow and provide input to commercial agreements, ensuring adherence to terms and conditions outlined by legal bounding documents.
- Strong business acumen to liaise with all facets of the business to achieve financial objectives
- Demonstrate advanced expertise in or understanding of:

- Telecommunications industry regulations.
- Interpretation of relevant legislation and regulations.
- Negotiation, relationship building and networking skills.
- Microsoft Office skills.
- Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Problem solving and diagnostic ability.
- Organisational skills and the ability to manage and meet competing deadlines.
- Aptitude for dealing with people.
