**Why Your Role Matters**:
This position is within the Mathematical Epidemiology and Evaluation Research Group part of the Surveillance and Evaluation Research Program and reports to Richard Gray.

**Skills and Experience**:

- A PhD in computational modelling, biostatistics, or a relevant field. Knowledge of hepatitis C or other blood borne viruses will be highly regarded.
- Demonstrated infectious disease modelling experience and the ability to conduct high quality academic research independently with limited supervision.
- Strong skills in data management, software development, and version control systems with excellent attention to detail.
- Proven commitment to proactively keeping up to date with discipline knowledge and developments.
- Demonstrated track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and conference presentations relative to opportunity.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a team, collaborate across disciplines and build effective relationships.
- Evidence of highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and interact with a diverse range of stakeholders and students.
- An understanding of and commitment to UNSW’s aims, objectives and values i action, together with relevant policies and guidelines.
- Knowledge of health & safety (psychosocial and physical) responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.
