- Direct report to Deputy Commissioner
- Total Remuneration Package (TRP) range $263,098 pa to $287,201 pa inclusive of the discretionary amount component
- Location - FRNSW Headquarters, Greenacre

**About the role**:
The Assistant Commissioner Community Safety sets the strategic direction of state-wide fire prevention functions for industry and the community. The role is accountable for driving organisational capacity to prevent emergencies through the delivery of building regulatory functions, developing fire research programs and driving change to industry and the community to reduce the impact of fire activities.
- Extensive knowledge of contemporary issues, challenges and approaches to emergency service and fire prevention and suppression and community resilience within the national and international arena;
- Experience in the management of large-scale emergencies and emergency situations and the ability to strategically plan and implement proactive strategies for preventative emergency response;
- Exceptional leadership capability and presence;
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills;
- Demonstrated financial acumen.

**Essential Requirements**:

- Post graduate tertiary qualification and/or significant professional experience in a related discipline.
- Emergency management qualifications to enable fulfilment of legislative requirements of the role.
- NOTE: As a considered expert at Assistant Commissioner Rank when in an emergency operational situation, the role determines the most appropriate course of action consistent with state-wide emergency plans during major/complex emergencies and disasters ensuring resource coordination and allocation of specialised services to the field._
