Irukandji is a bustling family-owned interactive aquarium with a strong conservation focus. Located in the brand-new site at Anna Bay, this small family business takes pride in exceptional customer service, conservation and education. An exciting opportunity exists to join the passionate team at Irukandji, giving you the chance to not only care for these amazing animals, but also inspire change and promote education and conservation through a unique and memorable experience for our visitors.

**The Position**

**Responsibilities & Duties**
- Promote Irukandji’s mission for conservation & practice the behaviours we teach whilst following our safety and animal protocols.
- Ensure high standards of animal husbandry are maintained at all times.
- Keeping accurate and up to date records to ensure quality animal management and welfare at or above industry standards.
- Fantastic can-do attitude.
- Assist in training the volunteers.
- Assist in breeding and conservation programs for species within our collection.
- Develop and present educational programs with world class customer service skills.

**Essential Experience/Qualifications**
- Experience in an aquarist position or related role within the aquarium/zoo industry.
- Captive Animals Cert II or Cert III
- Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills to engage, educate and create awareness with our guests.
- First Aid Certificate, CPR, Bronze Medallion (or willing to obtain).
- Current Working with Children’s Check

**Desirable Experience/Qualifications**
- Bachelors Degree in a related field.
- Open Water SCUBA
- Aquaculture experience

**Physical Requirements**
This position requires walking, standing, bending, regular stooping, crouching, climbing ladders/steps, carrying up to 20kg, sitting, kneeling, balancing, pushing, pulling, crawling, working with tools, working underwater and working in tight spaces.

**Immediate start to begin training before the next NSW School Holidays.**

Pay: $60,000.00 - $66,000.00 per year
