**_This is an exciting opportunity to lead MBRC’s Stormwater Infrastructure Planning Team_** within our broader Drainage Waterways and Coastal Planning department. The primary focus of this department is to plan, manage and design the region's coastal, stormwater and floodplain management infrastructure, including built and natural form assets, consistent with Council's corporate strategic vision, policies and strategies.

**About the Opportunity**:
As our **_Coordinator Stormwater Engineering_** you will be responsible for leading a multi-disciplinary team in the planning and design of stormwater and water quality infrastructure programs to meet the needs of our communities.

Core responsibilities of the role include:

- Leading and providing technical guidance to a team of approximately 15-20 engineering specialists and technical staff.
- Overseeing the development and delivery of large infrastructure renewal programs encompassing stormwater renewals, water quality infrastructure renewals, and major stormwater projects.
- Provide leadership and technical guidance throughout projects, including; early project scoping & definition, concept design, planning & approvals, detailed engineering design consultancies, and construction phase support.
- Oversight and direction of complex hydrologic, hydraulic and water quality investigations.
- Provide technical input into key policy and asset management plans relating to stormwater management and assets.
- Motivate the team and drive a high performance, continuous improvement and customer focussed team culture.

**About you**:
We are seeking experienced professionals with the following qualifications, knowledge and experience:

- Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering (or equiv.) recognised by Engineers Australia
- Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
- Industry recognised expertise in the planning and design of stormwater and stormwater quality projects.
- Substantial experience in the key technical areas of hydrology, hydraulics, water quality and water sensitive urban design (WSUD)
- Experience leading and managing specialist technical teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
- Expertise and experience in preparing technical briefs and managing consultants/sub-consultants in the delivery of complex studies and design projects.
- Ability to build high level, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to meet the needs of a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Term: 4 year contract
Location: Primarily based in Strathpine
Package: Total Remuneration Package from $173,632 and 5 weeks annual leave
