**Residential Care Officer**

**Adelaide Suburbs**

BissyCare is seeking experienced support Officer to join our growing team in Adelaide who will work within the NDIS framework. We are looking for people with a great work ethic and who are genuinely looking to help people live their lives to their full potential.

**Position objective**

To provide support, information and advice to clients on emotional, financial, recreational, health, housing and other social welfare matters, and to evaluate and coordinate the services of welfare and community service agencies

**Key Responsibilities and Duties**
- Provide support to people with disabilities using a person-centered active support approach
- Provide support services as required, based on an understanding of the client’s needs, wishes and level of independence within established parameters
- Assist clients attending external appointments, recreational activities and accessing and utilizing community resources (e.g. general medical care, shops, banks, etc.)
- Create and maintain an environment that empowers people with disabilities
- Identify and utilize specific communication methods to interact with people with disabilities
- Advocate for people with disabilities
- Complete administrative work including maintaining records and household accounts
- Plan meals and menus in accordance with food safety guidelines to meet nutritional, cultural and religious needs
- Assist residents in daily living and assist in the provision of, food preparation, eating, dressing, maintenance of personal hygiene, arranging external appointments and general household chores
- Maintain interpersonal communications with residents and their families and provide advisory, social and emotional support

**Minimum Certificate IV in Disability or a qualification in nursing**

We are looking for honest, hardworking, and reliable staff members with good personal presentation who are physically fit and have excellent communication skills. BissyCare prides itself on quality and caring staff.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
