Brisbane, Australia Inspector General Emergency Management Full time

Queensland is facing a complex future, with disasters and the impact of these serious disruptions ever increasing. At the Office of the Inspector-General of Emergency Management (Office of the IGEM), we are asking the big questions around how the system can work better for Queenslanders.
Communications forms a critical part of how we deliver our functions within the Disaster Management Sector. This is an opportunity to be at the forefront of delivering best practice communications, engagement and promotional projects that not only share important information out to the sector, but also thoughtfully seeks input from stakeholders and community through a closed-loop approach.

**Your contribution**:

- Lead key internal and external communications as directed across the business with oversight of strategic communications planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Work with the Director Research and Communications to promote effective engagement and communication between the Office of the Inspector-General of Emergency Management (IGEM) and its key stakeholders, taking accountability for supporting stakeholder relationships.
- Work closely with the Research and Communications team to raise the profile of the organisation as a leader in assurance and research activities and showcase its achievements through effective communication.
- Develop high quality, accurate and insightful publications, social media content, digital copy, presentations, reports, media, formal correspondence and other communication material.
- Deliver events and present at meetings to enhance the profile of the organisation.
- Manage content requirements for the Office of the IGEM website and Intranet.
- Provide specialist advice to the Office of the IGEM leadership on the organisation's response to emerging issues, including how they are addressed in the context of our relationships.
- Provide feedback and advice to the Director Research and Communications in relation to any emerging trends or issues of concern to stakeholders with potential to influence the Office.
- Undertake related projects and other duties of equivalent complexity as required.
