**As our Unit Supervisor, you will**: - Use effective problem solving to resolve issues in situations where procedures may not be entirely defined for both internal and external stakeholders. Ensure all paper and electronic records are maintained as per established information management principles and relevant statutory, legislative, policy and procedures. Ensure that all sensitive information is recorded accurately, with the required level of detail and retained and managed securely. Draft routine to moderately complex reports, business documents and correspondence as required by the Manager, Tick Fever Centre. Ensure ongoing alignment of team efforts with program requirements. Team leader responsibilities are required. This includes supervising staff, prioritising, allocating workloads, monitoring completion and quality of work. Adhere to operating procedures applicable to the work area or business function. Instruct/advise staff in procedures and policies that may be complex and/or unfamiliar. Contribute to the ongoing improvement of work area procedures. Develop and draw reports from relevant systems. Collate, summarise and interpret the data drawn to support and inform management decision making. Quality assure the work of other staff. This includes ensuring that data entered is correct and functional for the system. Support staff to ensure accuracy and accountability standards are maintained. Exercise discretion when either escalating major issues to management for a decision (ideally with an accompanying recommendation) or when making a decision within parameters established by your manager and your authorisations and when simply flagging such issues to management. Develop processes and procedures so staff can do routine work appropriately, consistently, transparently and efficiently. Exercise judgement when a procedure is not clearly defined.

Document decisions and report on incidents. When required provide informed advice and secure the advice of Subject Matter Experts. Undertake higher level user acceptance testing for new systems/processes and procedures. Use experience to provide valuable feedback and support other staff to also provide feedback. Undertake research / investigation and analysis of reasonably sensitive and confidential issues. Support the good reputation of your unit and of Biosecurity Queensland through all interactions with members of the public and with internal and external stakeholders and through effective service delivery e.g., customer service and advice.Applications to remain current for 12 months.This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 Australia License.
