Oosh Educator

Kensington Public School Out Of School Hours Care is currently looking for an enthusiastic, patient and passionate person to work on a casual or part-time basis within our organisation. We provide care for children aged 4 to 12 years. We are looking for someone to join our team during the school term and vacation care. Shifts vary in length and can be split between 7am and 6.30pm.

Essential Criteria:

- Availability x3 afternoons and x2 mornings a week.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ensuring all children are ‘actively’ supervised at all times
- Help manage a team of professional staff consisting of Managers, Supervisors/Educational Leaders and Educators in the day-to-day operations of the service.
- Attend management meetings, committee meetings, staff meetings, parent meetings (behavioural) and training as requested by the Director.
- Ensuring safe food handling and hygiene practices are upheld at all times and Encourage, maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness of program premises and facilities.
- Developing and fostering positive relationships with parents, caregivers, children and other key stakeholders.
- Assist in establishing daily routines and upholding rules and boundaries for children to encourage positive behaviour.
- Ability to assist in the delivery of learning experiences and program planning
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Willingness to undergo professional development and to adhere to the organisation's policy and procedures
- Hold a NSW Working with Children Clearance, or be willing to obtain one

Desirable Criteria:

- Experience with school age children
- Current first aid, CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis qualifications
- current Child Protection Training Certificate
- Knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Framework
- Knowledge and understanding of our Approved learning framework
- Be flexible and consistent available across morning and afternoon shifts, Monday to Friday
