The Foster Care Specialist Disability Program is a partnership between Anglicare Victoria and Yooralla that provides support for highly vulnerable children and young people with disabilities in foster care placements across Gippsland. The Foster Care Specialist Disability Program ensures children and young people with disabilities can access a supportive and secure placement, and receive tailored support that enhances their quality of life.
We require a highly skilled individual who has experience in working with children and young people living with disability and a demonstrated ability to make a positive difference.
Child and Family Therapeutic Specialist
The Child and Family Therapeutic Specialist plays a key role in overseeing the delivery of high-quality, therapeutic, and culturally safe care for children and young people with disabilities within the foster care system. This role will involve the development, implementation, and evaluation of therapeutic plans, collaboration with multi-disciplinary teams, and active engagement with stakeholders, carers, and families to ensure the best outcomes for children with complex needs. This is a senior leadership position, responsible for guiding the team, building capacity, and ensuring alignment with legislative, regulatory, and therapeutic frameworks.
To be successful in this position you will need:
- A relevant tertiary qualification in Bachelor or Master of Occupational Therapy, Master of Psychology, Bachelor or Master of Social Work, Masters Family therapy and eligibility for registration with the appliable professional association at Masters or degree level with substantial relevant experience; post graduate qualification; associate diploma with substantial experience; attained through previous appointments, service and/or study with a combination of experience, expertise, and competence sufficient to perform the duties required at this level.
- Victorian Drivers Licence.
