**Your new company**
Our client is seeking a Policy Officer who will help develop digital-related policies across government that impact the small business sector, including Cyber Security, the Privacy Act Review, the Digital ID and Artificial Intelligence. The program works with a range of KEY stakeholders for the purpose of gaining access to data that has been stored. The team’s work encompasses communications, operations, stakeholder engagement, policy, cyber strategy and capability. The team is currently seeking an experienced policy officer to join this fast-paced challenging team for an initial estimated 6 Month contract with.

**Your new role**
You are an experienced ASPS5 or 6 policy officer who thrives in a challenging environment. In this initial contract, you'll have the opportunity to work on high-profile projects and make a real impact on Australia's cyber security, the Privacy Act Review, the Digital ID and Artificial Intelligence. As a policy officer, you will work closely with key stakeholders to gain access to data and drive policy development that aligns with our organization's mission. Your role will be pivotal in supporting our team's communications, operations, stakeholder engagement, cyber strategy and capability.

**What you'll need to succeed**
To succeed in this role, you will be a high-performing individual with demonstrated professional experience working as a policy officer within the Australian Public Service. As well as this, you will have:

- Excellent analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex information
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience in policy development and report writing
- High attention to detail and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Researching digital-related policies and program across government and internationally
- experience in a policy-related role is essential. Strong skills in writing, research and analysis are desirable.
- Analysing policies and programs for small business impacts
- Drafting briefing material, presentations, papers
- Liaising with internal and external stakeholders
- Developing responses to ministerial correspondence
