**About the role**

The Environmental Health Officer works in the Public Health team to administer and implement the legislative requirements contained within the Food Act, Public Health & Wellbeing Act, Environment Protection Act and Tobacco Act as delegated by Council.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct food safety assessments of registered food businesses.
- Investigate and report complaints received and take necessary remedial action.
- Issue notices and the required enforcement action to ensure compliance.

**About you**

You have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people, build and manage effective relationships and deal with difficult people. You have strong problem-solving skills with the ability to deal with complaints, analyse issues and come up with solutions to create positive outcomes.

The following is also required:

- Degree in Applied Science (Environmental Health) or equivalent.
- Current driver's licence.
- Current Working with Children Check. (or willing to obtain)
- Experience in local government is ideal but not required.
