**Position Overview**:
The role encompasses all aspects of data analysis and maintenance. The key objectives are to maintain data on the in-house reinsurance administration system ensuring accurate and timely processing of both reinsurance data files and corresponding premium payments from client companies and verify that RGAA receives the business in accordance with the treaty specifics. In addition, ensure that the assigned monthly reporting tasks to internal stakeholders are accurate and completed on time, ensure process compliance as per SOX and complete administrative and ad hoc tasks as required. The role also requires client engagement with both client companies and internal stakeholders (e.g. finance and valuations departments).

**Responsibilities**:
- Daily duties including data analysis of reinsurance data files to ensure adherence to treaty terms, processing of reinsurance data files and corresponding premium payments, business testing and providing accurate and timely information to internal and external stakeholders in relation to the reinsurance data files.
- Ensure all agreed service levels are met or exceeded and maintain a high level of accuracy with mínimal errors.
- Regular contact with clients (ceding companies) to ensure premiums and data are received on time. This will also include follow up on overdue premium payments and issues found during analysis.
- Assist with implementation, mapping and documentation of new clients (ceding companies).
- Analyse statistical movements and premium splits between different products and provide explanation on the movements as required.
- Document and follow operations procedures and adhere to SOX process controls.
- Conduct premium calculations to ensure that premium payments to RGAA and rates applied by company clients are as per treaty terms.
- Perform special projects/tasks as requested.
- Proactively take responsibility for expanding knowledge and understanding of the insurance industry.
- Provide assistance and ensure transparency in the communication to key internal and external clients e.g., IT, business development, actuarial.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Understand the needs of other departments and how they interact with operations.
- Maintain credit control by ensuring all premiums are paid to date, cash is cleared in a timely manner.
- Assist with client (ceding companies) audits, ensuring all work is completed, ensure that the issues are documented and all outstanding actions are followed up on a regular basis.
- When required take ownership of month end reports as allocated.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
- At least two years life insurance or reinsurance administration experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Commerce or Business considered an advantage
**Skills and Attributes**:
- Advanced skills in MS Excel and intermediate skills in MS Access
- SQL or VBA experience an advantage
- Strong attention to detail
- Analysis skills, critical thinking and an affinity for numbers and details essential
- Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly
- Ability to work autonomously or as part of a team
- Ability to work to tight deadlines and multi-task, have a logical mind and an aptitude for data analysis
