Assistant Principal Ranger

This expression of interest is for the Assistant Principal Ranger (Estate) - Fire and Pest, Assets and Conservation and Assessment. The role of the Assistant Principal Ranger (APR) is to provide high level support to the Principal Ranger Technical Support by leading and coordinating the delivery of operational programs within the Region specifically related to estate management, including fire, pest and asset programs. This position also provides critical support to delivery of the regional management planning and health check programs. The APR must ensure optimum use of resources in accordance with legislative obligations and Divisional and Regional Business Plans.
The role will be required to operate within a highly reactive working environment, often with competing priorities and impromptu requests with tight time frames. The role will assist in reviewing the ongoing functions and continuous improvement of the CIR Technical Support teams and aligning resources with Regional business priorities. The role supervises and manages multiple teams in geographically dispersed locations. This position must engage closely with operation work units, First Nations groups and internal and external stakeholders to facilitate delivery of programs and identification, and resolution, of impediments to delivery.
