**About Northern Beaches Hospital**
Operated by Healthscope, Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) is located in Frenchs Forest, only 13kms north of Sydney CBD. The hospital is a contemporary 488 bed facility comprising of 60% public and 40% private beds. Providing a wide range of health services to the local community, including Surgery, a 50 bed Emergency Department, Intensive Care, Birthing, Paediatrics, Cardiac, Mental Health, Dialysis, Cancer Centre and Outpatients.
NBH has 13 operating theatres, one hybrid/cardiac catheter theatre, two Catheter Laboratories and four endoscopy procedure rooms, all supported by a critical care unit which includes two intensive care wards.

**About the role**:
An opportunity has become available for an experienced Clinical Coder to join our Health Information Services team. Your excellent time managment and organisational skills, along with clinical coding experience will ensure success in this position. We offer flexible working arrangements including remote coding.
As a Clinical Coder your responsibilities will include:

- Timely and accurate clinical coding
- Participate on case-mix analysis, education and quality activities
- Undertake clinical documentation improvement initiatives
- Participate in audit

**Essential Criteria**:
HIMAA Certification in Clinical Coding with experience in ICD-10-AM, ACHI & ACS
Proven experience in clinical coding
Sound understanding of Codefinder & Turbocoder
Strong organisational skills in planning, prioritising and managing workloads Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work within a team environment
Strong attention to detail and focus on providing high quality work
**Desirable Criteria**:
Sound Knowledge of private sector funding models
Demonstrated understanding in WebPAS patient information system
