Retail Buyer

Xerri Bros Produce Pty Ltd is a leading name in the fresh produce industry, specialising in the supply of high-quality vegetables. We proudly grow our own produce and also work with a network of trusted growers across the region. Our produce is stored, managed, and distributed to a diverse range of customers including supermarkets, hospitality groups, and independent retailers across New South Wales.

**Position Summary**:
**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Source and procure fresh fruits and vegetables from local and regional growers.
- Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and supply agreements with vendors.
- Monitor market trends, seasonal availability, and customer preferences to maintain product variety and competitiveness.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and growers.
- Ensure produce meets the company’s standards for freshness, quality, and shelf life.
- Work closely with inventory and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and stock management.
- Analyse sales data and forecast future buying needs.
- Visit farms, markets, and supplier facilities across NSW to assess product quality and negotiate deals.
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, costings, and supplier performance.
- Assist in planning promotions and seasonal campaigns.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum of 1-2 years recent experience in retail buying or procurement of fresh produce (fruits and vegetables).
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to travel frequently across New South Wales to source and inspect produce.
- A proactive, organised, and analytical approach to buying.
- Knowledge of produce quality standards and industry best practices is desirable.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
