**Planning Officer**

Local Council - Upcoming Opportunities

Are you a skilled and experienced Planning Officer looking for new opportunities to make a difference in your community? Local Councils have a need for Planning officers of all levels and experience.

We are seeking interest from qualified individuals based both north and south of the river to join our pool of Planning experts.

**Job Overview**:

- Arrange reports for the Planning and Asset Services Committee
- Organize correspondence and assist with policy reviews.
- Support with Business Improvement Initiatives.
- Help Managers, Coordinators, and Directors of Planning and Development Services on statutory planning matters.
- Liaise and negotiate with landowners and developers to ensure compliance with Council's objectives.
- Provide detailed information and professional advice to the community, developers, and Government agencies.
- Address public counter and telephone enquiries.
- Foster outstanding customer service and service excellence

**Skills and Knowledge**:

- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
- Time management and organisational skills
- Negotiation, decision-making, and interpersonal skills
- Sound knowledge of Planning principles, legislation, and environmental practices
- Knowledge of related local government legislation and approval processes

**Experience**:

- Substantial practical experience in town planning
- Local Government practical experience in town planning (desirable)

**Qualifications, Certifications, and Licences**:

- Degree in Town (Urban) Planning or equivalent
- Current 'C' class driver's licence
- Police Clearance
