**The role**:

- The Privacy and Information Access Officer is responsible for delivering a high-level information access service to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring that Council meets its obligations under the Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 and the Freedom of Information Act 1982.
- The role also provides Freedom of Information and Privacy advice and guidance to Council staff and members of the public in accordance with Council policies, procedures, processes and industry standards.

**About you**:

- Thorough working knowledge of the Local Government Act 1989 and 2020; Freedom of Information Act 1982 and Privacy and Data Protection Act 2014 and other statutory requirements.
- Highly developed attention to detail attributes and highly developed research and analytical skills.
- Ability to gain co-operation and assistance from internal stakeholders, sometimes involving sensitive issues, in order to exchange information, seek advice and coordinate services and activities.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex legislative information in a clear and easy to understand manner to a range of stakeholders.
- Effectively handle and respond to all FOI and privacy requests in accordance with relevant legislative requirements and timeframes.
- High level of written, reading and oral English language skills.
