**JOB DESCRIPTION: CHILDCARE GROUP LEADER EDUACTOR**

**1. MAIN PURPOSE**

1.1. Assist the Director/Assistant Director to provide high quality child care for school aged children in the Out of School Hours program

1.2. Assist the Director/Assistant Director in the effective day to day management of the program

**2. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

2.1. Assist in the development and implementation of programs for the daily activities in the centre

2.2. Report to Director/Assistant Director any repairs and maintenance of building or equipment required

2.3. Report to Director/Assistant Director any work health and safety issues

2.4. Manage year group 4, 5 and 6

2.5. Attend staff meetings as required

2.6. Participate in and support teamwork within the program

2.7. Assist in communication of general information to parents about the program and their children

2.8. Inform Director/Assistant Director of any concerns regarding the children attending the program

2.9. Inform Director/Assistant Director of any supplies required

2.10. Support and assist in the integration of children with additional needs

2.11. Take part in the National Quality Framework process as directed by the Director/Assistant Director

2.12. Assist Director/Assistant Director in management of staff including mentoring
2.1.4. Assist in the behaviour management of children

2.1.5 Maintain administration for group leader tasks

**3. ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT**

3.1. Minimum 12 months experience working in childcare or similar experience within a primary school
- aged setting
3.3. A current Working With Children Check
3.4. Knowledge and understanding of needs of school aged children

3.6. Willingness to learn and take direction

3.7. Well-developed communication skills

3.8. Ability to work in a team environment

3.9. Ability to use initiative

3.10. Demonstrated ability to lead, support and supervise staff
3.11. Demonstrated commitment to quality customer service

3.12. Understanding of continuous learning principles, equal employment opportunities, work health and safety and legal and ethical practice principles

**4. DESIRABLE**

4.1.2. Qualification relevant to the industry

4.1.3. Experience in childcare/teaching/recreation (or other relevant experience)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.76 - $29.17 per hour
