Where you’ll be working
Based out of Newmont’s Subiaco office in Perth, this role is offered as a hybrid/WFH with a 5:2 Monday to Friday roster, and is part of the Materials Management& Logistics team supporting multiple Australian sites, including Boddington, Tanami, and Cadia. This role involves some site travel.
This role will be offered on a fully flexible hybrid/work from home basis. It is anticipated you will be a seasoned professional accustomed to working from home while utilising the Newmont capital city office hub when required to be effective in your role.
Who we’re looking for
Reporting to the Lead Materials Management& Logistics, the Analyst, Inventory controller will support Inventory Control by managing transactions, assessing needs, monitoring levels, identifying slow-moving and POTOB items, enabling new and replenishment orders, and improving processes and procedures.
**Key responsibilities include**:

- Assess inventory requirements, monitor levels against forecast needs, identify slow-moving and POTOB inventory, and manage inbound orders.
- Evaluate inventory control processes and identify areas for process improvement.
- Optimisation of inventory levels, identifying underperforming service levels, stock outs and implement solutions to improve turnover and availability.
- Perform duties in compliance with established standards and procedures to maintain effective internal control over the physical flow and accounting of inventory receiving and shipping.
- Ensure all contractors are aware of and adhere to mine safety standards.

**Skills& Qualification**:

- Tertiary qualifications in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or related field, or an Associate’s degree with relevant experience required.
- Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) can be advantageous.
- Broad business knowledge and focus, ability to recognize issues, problems, and capitalize on opportunities.
- Knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes, including procurement, warehousing, and logistics.
- Familiarity with mining industry-specific equipment, spare parts, consumables, and their supply and demand cycles.
- Familiarity with regulatory and corporate compliance related to inventory management.
- Experience in inventory control and management in mining environments or heavy industry sectors.
- Experience using ERP systems for managing inventory, particularly SAP, tracking stock levels, and analyzing inventory data.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams (such as procurement, warehousing, and operations) to ensure alignment of inventory management processes with broader business goals.
- Business acumen skills related to inventory management best practices.
- Ability to analyze inventory data, identify trends, and forecast material requirements to minimize stockouts and overstocking, including experience using IBM’s MRO Inventory Optimization tool.
- Working capital management, specifically balancing stocked inventory levels to risk of stockouts and the cost of obsolescence and slow-moving parts.
- Proficiency in SAP Inventory and reporting.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.
