**About the Opportunity**:
headspace is the National Youth Mental Health Foundation supporting young people aged 12-25 years with their mental & general health care needs. At headspace we provide young people with the opportunity to seek help early by bringing local health services under the one roof, making it easier for young people and their families to find the information they need.

As the **headspace **Team Leader - Access you will:

- Providing supervision and mentorship to the Youth Access team.
- Overseeing the clinical practice of the Youth Access team and communication between private practitioners, Consortium staff and other clinicians.
- Facilitating excellence in integrated holistic health care to improve outcomes of young people.
- Undertaking a range of assessments of young people, including intake assessments, assessment of functioning, outcome measures, and symptom severity measures.
- Working collaboratively with the young person to develop individual recovery plans and/or service plans that are person-centred and directed by the young person.
- Engaging relevant sectors and partners in an integrated model of care and assist in the growth and development of the service.

**Selection Criteria**:

- Essential:_
- Tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Social Work, Nursing, Occupational Therapy or other allied health discipline.
- Eligibility for membership/registration with an appropriate professional body (e.g. APHRA).
- Minimum 3 years clinical experience in youth mental health (e.g. including psychosocial assessments, provision of intervention,** **triaging of clients and facilitation of referrals).
- Experience in direct service provision to young people and their families and knowledge of the Mental Health Act, risk assessment and safety planning with demonstrated experience in managing risk with participants.
- Demonstrated understanding of the factors that influence the mental, physical, social and emotional well-being of young people aged 12-25 years and their families.
- Ability to demonstrate an in depth knowledge of recovery focused practice.
- Knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation, policies and strategic directions of mental health services for young people experiencing a mental health issue.
- Demonstrated leadership and management abilities relevant to mentoring a team of mental health clinicians.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- High degree of computer literacy and experience with report writing and electronic client information management systems.
- A current driver’s licence.
- Desirable:_
- Understanding of the Australian health care system, key issues in primary health care, the mental health service system, including the range of professionals that work within, or come into contact with, the mental health sector.
- Knowledge of local youth/health sectors.
