**- **What you’ll do
- As the Technical Accounting Director, you will be the architect of our US GAAP accounting policies, building the foundations for scalable and GAAP-compliant processes. This will include:
- Building the processes needed to uplift our accounting processes in order to comply with financial reporting requirements in areas such as management estimates and equity accounting
- Providing technical accounting consultations for significant, challenging or non-routine transactions including benchmarking to peers, alignment with GAAP and collaborating closely with external advisors
- Review new FASB pronouncements, trends in regulatory areas of focus and US GAAP guidance and guiding the team to proactively address any impacts on Canva’s financial statements
- Help us build a knowledgeable, trusted, world-class US GAAP first accounting function

**What we're looking for**:

- Technical Accounting or Financial Reporting experience, CPA (or equivalent) Qualified
- Solid understanding of US GAAP, SEC reporting requirements and FASB pronouncements
- Previous public accounting or public company reporting exposure is highly preferred
- Experience working in the technology / software sector, or within a rapidly scaling global organisation
- Proven commercial judgment with a flair and creative intuition for problem solving
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills
