**Position Objective**
This position supports the Manager to lead and develop an effective, empowered and efficient team of staff within a designated residence to deliver high quality care and service to residents of BlueCross and is designed to provide superior leadership in the management and delivery of high-quality clinical care to residents. The role is targeted at staff who are looking for a Residence Manager role in the future and successful applicants will need to be able to capably step into the Residence Manager role at the specific site when required.

**Qualifications**
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration

**Experience**
- Supervision/leadership/management experience in aged care, preferably in a residential setting
- Superior communication skills
- Customer Service experience
- Understanding of quality management systems
- Recruitment of staff, rostering and performance management
- Highly organised and can manage responsibilities and own priorities and assist others in doing the same.
- Ability to foster teamwork and effectively work as a team member, whilst providing leadership
- Ability to effectively conduct and facilitate meetings
- Ability to identify, resolve and manage problems and resolve conflict situations effectively
- Computer literacy - particularly Outlook, Word, Excel
- Ability to provide staff training and coaching
- Actively maintains professional skills and current practices in aged care applicable to the role
- Presents professionally, as appropriate for the occasion

**Key Accountabilities**

This role will entail a variety of responsibilities including but not limited to;
- Manage emergency situations, injuries and incidents in consultation with the Clinical Care Coordinator, staff, the resident, their family and medical staff.
- Participate / deputize for the Residence Manager at the regular Residents and Relatives Meetings.
- Attend any other consultative forums as requested by Residence Manager
- Work with the Client Relations and Residence teams and local community to ensure the Residence is offering a service that people wish to access.
- Facilitate in house training with staff in relation to identified skill deficits including delivering sections of any mandatory training as requested by Residence Manager
- Support, coach and mentor the Clinical Care Coordinators and other staff
- Assist with the recruitment and selection of staff as per Policy & Procedure
- Understand and complete general HR administration duties including customer service, preparation of contracts, mail out and maintenance of staff files
- Manage ACFI Assessments and submission to the DSS in accordance with departmental requirements
- Assist the Residence Manager to respond to variances against actual results and implement strategies to rectify variance.
