Our AOD program supports people in the Yarra Ranges to navigate alcohol and drug concerns through free, confidential, and non-judgmental care.

We meet people where they’re at - emotionally and physically - whether that’s at school, in the community, or on-site.

With a focus on therapeutic counselling and social support, we tailor our approach to what matters most to the individual, creating a safe and welcoming space to take steps toward change.

**Your role, your impact**

As an AOD Counsellor, you'll play a vital role in providing recovery-focused, trauma-informed support for individuals impacted by alcohol and other drugs. You’ll draw on a range of modalities including CBT, ACT, schema therapy, mindfulness, and motivational interviewing to help people work towards the life they want to live. No two days will be the same - whether you're providing 1:1 support, facilitating group work, or connecting with local services to ensure seamless care.

**You’ll be working on**:

- Providing high-quality, client-centred AOD treatment and counselling (including forensic clients)
- Supporting relapse prevention, brief interventions, and therapeutic group programs
- Contributing to service development and continuous improvement
- Coordinating care with GPs, mental health, welfare and other AOD providers
- Maintaining accurate records, including case notes and data entry in TrakCare
- Actively participating in team discussions, planning, and program development

**Who we’re looking for**

A minimum Diploma in AOD is required. Additional qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or Dual Diagnosis are highly regarded.

- A passion for making a difference in the lives of people affected by AOD use
- Experience supporting clients with co-occurring mental health and/or family violence concerns
- A trauma-informed, harm-reduction approach to care
- Skills in therapeutic modalities like CBT, ACT, and motivational interviewing
- Strong communication, organisation and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to build trust and offer hope to people from all walks of life
