Weir Minerals are looking for a Mechanical Trade Assistant to join our Service Centre at Perth Airport

This role assists mechanical tradespersons with the maintenance of fixed plant with an emphasis to the delivery of high-quality work. In addition, this role will be responsible for the maintenance and housekeeping required to keep a safe, clean, lean, world class standard workshop.

Responsibilities of the role
- Undertake and assist with pump assembly and inspection
- Maintenance and cleaning of tools and work areas.
- Operate tools, presses or other equipment and machinery.
- Transport tools, materials and work pieces to from sites or within workshop.
- Assist tradesperson as and when required on customers sites and in workshop
- Work within safe work practices
- Adhere to company values and policies
- Identifying records and recommending or initiating action to solve problems, relating to product and process quality

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Have completed Year 12 Tertiary Education
- Experience working in a similar role is desirable but not essential
- Motivated and pro-active attitude
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
