PMO Lead- Retail Change Program
1 day ago
Our Change and Transformation team are creating some incredibly positive waves across our business. With multiple medium-high value projects running simultaneously across the business we are looking for a talented, experienced and passionate SME to lead our program of work.
As Project Management Officer (PMO) you will lead activities across a portfolio of projects and programs, while developing engaging relationships across our internal stakeholders. You will be a part of an exciting Change and Transformation program incorporating all areas of our dynamic and growing retail business.
Reporting to the General Manager of Change Delivery, you will have full visibility of our program of projects while leading the end-to-end aspects of the projects. Ideally you will have experience in Retail, Supply Chain or a FMCG and be able to bring your insights and experience into this innovative portfolio. This opportunity will be a permanent full-time role and based in our Head Office in Abbotsford. We also have a hybrid work model at Munro and fully supported WFH policy (2 days per week).
What your day will look like;
The PMO Lead has responsibility for a 3-month forward planning horizon as well as day-to-day aspects of the PMO operations and quality,
- Compiling investment opportunity information for portfolio review as potential new projects and testing the data with business stakeholders
- Predictively tracking people and skill capacity needs on a forward rolling 3-month basis working with project managers to identify when we have capacity for new work, and emerging skill shortages
- Reviewing project risk management information and working with project managers and business leaders to ensure adequate mitigation plans are in place and acted upon, and reporting on the overall risk position regularly, facilitating risk workshops as needed
- Light weight governance to introduce expectations to project managers and improve quality by periodically reviewing appropriate use of artefacts and progress of work
- Assist the PMO coordinator and manager with other duties as needed including caretaking projects during people's leave of absence, what-if scenario planning with program planning tools, and progress updating in PM tools on behalf of business stakeholders who are unfamiliar with such tools.
What you will bring to this role;
- You will have over 2 years' experience as a PMO in a similar industry, or have 3-5 years' experience working as a project manager in a PMO led environment
- Hold an industry project management certification (to show commitment and interest to the profession - e.g. PRINCE2, PMI, AIPM, CSM, SAFe Agilist, Six Sigma). You have had exposure to waterfall and iterative project methods
- You will be a natural and confident communicator with excellent relationship building skills including business stakeholder engagement.
- You are comfortable being head-strong, while being well-organised able to work autonomously and confident to facilitate and lead meetings
- You have your finger on the pulse of the current projects and emerging challenges and bring your advanced problem-solving skills and PMO experience into play to counteract foreseeable issues.
- You are familiar with MS Project and / or Jira exposure as a user
- Naturally goal orientated, action focused with an ability to manage multiple conflicting priorities and work to deadlines
- Bachelor's Degree preferred, especially within a technology or business discipline
- You will ideally have retail supply chain systems understanding (basic) and PMO finance understanding
You're not expected to have 100% of these skills. We want you to grow and mature with the rest of the organisation. If you love being in the heart-beat of large scale projects and finding opportunities to improve, then we invite you to explore this role - we would love to hear from you.
