Southern Cross Support Services (SCSS) is a leading Child Safety provider throughout QLD. Children, Youth & Family Services (CYF) team members play a vital role in ensuring that children and young people are offered a safe and stable environment to reach their goals. **As a Youth Worker, you may work with young people to**:

- Be a positive role model and allow children to feel safe, build resilience and work towards positive future outcomes
- Support children and young people to build positive and trusting connections with family, friends, and community
- Support children and young people to make healthy lifestyle choices, access health care services and develop strong social and interpersonal skills
- Provide outreach support to children and young people who are dis-engaged from placements
- Provide the day-to-day care of all children in the residential care setting as required
- Learn life skills in a planned and supportive way
- Provide and participate in appropriate recreational activities for and with the children

CYF programs operate 24/7 which includes shift work (sleepovers and weekends)

Requirements prior to commencement:

- Child Safety and Personal History Screening Check (LCS2)
- Hold or be willing to enrol into a Cert 4 or higher recognised qualification
- Driver’s licence (P2 minimum)
- Hope & Healing modules
- Smartphone with internet access
- CPR Certificate (willing to obtain)
