The Bureau is looking for an experience and highly motivated Senior Officer to support the Bureau's Solar and Intelligent Sensors Networks, including solar trackers, solar radiation sensors and aviation related intelligent sensors, for example ceilometer/vismeter/present weather equipment.

This is a key position within the Operational Technology and Engineering (OTE) team, which forms part of the Observing Systems and Operations (OSO) Program. The role provides specialist advice and will lead the development and implementation of processes that will ensure systematic delivery of quality outcomes for observing infrastructure architecture and equipment.
Operational Technology and Engineering is made up of a diverse team of specialists and engineers responsible for the development and design of engineering and technological solutions, incorporating level three support, on a range of technologies spanning from radars to rainfall stations, drifting buoys to dedicated observations and satellites to ships at sea so as to meet business needs.

The Intelligent Sensors Lead will manage a small team to provide support for the Bureau's existing fleet of Intelligent sensors (primarily barometers, ceilometers, visibility meters and present weather sensors) including system evaluation and technical investigations; perform integration, trials, and acceptance testing of new or modified equipment, lead fault investigations and provide specialist support to field service staff.
