**Sleep Research Assistant**
- 1 Year Contract | Part-time (16hours/week)

**About the role**

The Research Assistant role will involve data collection in a clinical setting alongside data entry and coding on a day-to-day basis, and other research related tasks as needed.

Examples of tasks you may be expected to undertake include:

- Undertake data entry and maintain research files
- Assist in setting patients up on CPAP treatment
- Collect research data with patients and key stakeholders
- Undertake quantitative analysis of datasets maintained with the relevant program under supervision
- Ensure that participants are treated respectfully, confidentiality observed and as individuals whilst participating in projects
- Provide assistance in the preparation of written materials such as literature reviews and technical reports
- Perform other administration and research tasks as required

**About you**

To be successful in this role you will possess:

- A strong interest in working in Sleep Medicine and/or previous experience working with people with complex needs
- High level of attention to detail, including accurate scheduling, data collection and record keeping
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently with mínimal supervision and as part of a team
- Strong interpersonal skills, and verbal and written communication skills
- Sound time management skills, meeting competing deadlines and delivering high-quality outcomes
- Demonstrated capacity to adhere to ethical guidelines and project protocols
- Analytic skills, and an ability to use initiative and exercise sound judgement and ability to work in an ethical and sensitive manner with participants; understand the principles of confidentiality, privacy and information handling.
- Computing skills, including proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs, statistical analysis software packages, and the Endnote referencing system
- Self-motivated and flexible
- Healthcare workers are strongly recommended to follow COVID vaccination recommendations provided in the _Australian Immunisation handbook (based on ATAGI advice)_. Seasonal vaccination against influenza is a mandatory requirement of this role and an offer is conditional on this being up to date prior to employment._
