The Aged Care Program Assistant supports the Line Manager facilitating activities and providing companionship, as well as quality customer service to residents. Attention to maintaining a safe, hygienic, and healthy work environment is critical.
- About the role

The Aged Care Program Assistant supports the Line Manager facilitating activities and providing companionship, as well as quality customer service to residents. Attention to maintaining a safe, hygienic, and healthy work environment is critical.
- Key responsibilities
- Undertake activities that are appropriate to the participant and/or group. This may include (but not limited too): listening to music together, facilitating arts & crafts, attending a gardening activity, playing cards or board games, or simply having a chat over a cup of coffee.
- Operate in a manner that promotes effective teamwork, good relationships with service providers, residents, and their families
- Be prompt, courteous and respectful when interacting with residents, families, and colleagues
- Assisting site Manager/Supervisor with other tasks as directed.
- Awareness and update with information of the church and various activities
- Exhibiting professional image of the service, always displaying professionalism and integrity.
- Accurate information provided to customers.
- Refer people to appropriate Salvation Army services. Follow up with Manager if unsure.
- Listen carefully, and acknowledge and refer concerns, issues, or queries to Manager.
- Qualifications and skills (desired/required)
- Experience in a similar role is desired

Background checks play an important part in our commitment to being a safe organisation. - As this role involves dealing with confidential information, it requires a Police Check
- This role delivers services under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and requires the NDIS Worker Check.
- The Salvation Army is a child safe organisation and is committed to protecting children and young people from harm. All child related roles will require the successful completion of a Working with Children Check. _Additionally, certain volunteer roles may require a National Police Check._
