About the role

As a member of the Customer Services & Accessibility team the Station Assistant assists the Services Officer and Services Manager in the operation of the facilities and customer services activities at the station. The Station Assistant is required to maintain the delivery of service to customers ensuring the provision of best possible train and coach services to V/Line passengers.

This position is responsible for providing staff a safe work place where risks are identified, understood and managed and a safe environment for customers and visitors is maintained.

**Key accountabilities include**:

- Assist with on time running of scheduled rail services
- Handling of Green Star parcels, inwards, outwards and daily cash balance
- Build co-operative networks with internal and external customers
- Assisting in the overall presentation and cleaning of the station
- Oversee and ensure the safe operation of the coach interchange
- Passenger assistance and handling of lost property
- Regular inspection of the station to ensure standards are being maintained

**About you**
- Successful completion of Year 10 or equivalent
- Ability to adapt to changing environments
- Previous extensive experience in a customer service and operational environment
- Strong verbal and written communication, and problem-solving skills
- Strong safety culture and willingness to adhere to the company values

Remuneration for this position will be in line with the V/Line Rail Operations and Administrative Employees Agreement 2023 or Asset Management Enterprise Agreement 2023 (delete if IECS or SPEECS position).
