**About the Role**
As a** Lifestyle officer,** you’ll help residents to find meaning and purpose through activities designed to enhance their sense of connection, fun and relaxation.
Your warm-hearted care will provide experiences that enhance our residents’ wellbeing and overall quality of life and truly make a positive impact on their lives. It really is an incredibly rewarding role and a lot of fun
This is a **permanent part time role** with minimum **12 hours per week**, with **5.5 hours per week **on **Tuesday at St Georges Basin (9:30am to 3:30pm) **and the rest hours to **cover leave across the three northern sites - IRT Sarah Claydon, Milton, IRT Culburra, IRT Greenwell Gardens, Nowra**. **The applicant must be willing to work across sites.**

**Your work may include**:

- Helping facilitate a range of engaging onsite activities such as bingo, floor bowls, craft and special events
- Helping to develop and plan a range of social, recreational and cultural activities
- Assisting residents on bus trips and community outings
- Supporting resident participation and offering warm companionship
- Ensuring residents’ needs, values and spiritual values and cultural preferences are taken into account

**To Be Successful You Will Have**
- A **Diploma or Certificate IV in Leisure and Health (or willing to obtain)**:

- Initiative and creative flair
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to work as part of a team and prioritise work
- The ability to put a smile on a residents face and brighten their day
- A big heart - you’re empathetic and have a passion for supporting older Australians to live their best life possible
- Knowledge of the needs of persons living with dementia (desirable)
