**The opportunity**
Vacenti is seeking a Full-time Lifestyle Coordinator to join the Lifestyle Team at Sorrento - Cleveland, QLD. Reporting to, and working closely with the Facility Manager, in this role you will deliver an integrated person-centred lifestyle program which is designed to support the physical, emotional, and psychological wellbeing of residents. This role will enable residents to maintain a lifestyle that meets their individual needs and enhances their quality of life. The Lifestyle Coordinator will deliver a program that provides support for individual residents and those with group interests, as well as providing a framework for a broader social program that enables residents to maintain a sense of connection with their home.
The Lifestyle Coordinator will lead the Lifestyle team and work collaboratively with residents, families, the Clinical Team, and key stakeholders in the achievement of high-quality lifestyle services.
**Your main responsibilities will include**:
- Develop and implement a diverse range of activities to meet the social, emotional, and recreational needs of residents.
- Provide leadership and supervision to Lifestyle officers.
- Recruit, train, and coordinate volunteers to assist with activities and provide additional support to residents.
- Actively seek feedback from residents regarding their preferences and satisfaction with activities.
- Maintain accurate records of resident participation in activities.
- Evaluate the success and impact of activities and provide regular reports to management.
- Plan and organise special events, celebrations, and themed parties throughout the year.
- Work collaboratively with team members to ensure that activities align with residents' care plans and contribute to their overall well-being.
- Manage the budget allocated for lifestyle and recreational activities.
- Ensure all activities comply with relevant aged care regulations and standards.
- Organise outings and excursions to provide residents with opportunities for social interaction and community engagement.
- Create a monthly activity calendar that aligns with the preferences and abilities of residents.
- Collaborate with allied health professionals to integrate therapeutic interventions into the activity program.
- Build strong relationships with residents to understand their individual preferences and interests.
- Implement person-centred care principles by tailoring activities to the individual needs, preferences, and care plans of residents.
**To be successful in this position you will need**:
- Certificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle or related qualification.
- Experience as a Lifestyle Coordinator or similar role within aged care.
- Demonstrated capacity to deliver excellent customer service and contemporary lifestyle solutions within a consumer-directed care environment.
- A personal philosophy and practical approach that is compatible with the Vacenti PERSON values which ensure respect for the dignity, privacy and individuality of residents and staff.
- Proven experience in designing and delivering Lifestyle programs within an allocated budget.
- Sound working knowledge of Aged Care legislation including the Aged Care Quality Standards and Accreditation process, Australian National Aged Care Classification (AN-ACC), electronic care management systems and OH&S legislation.
- Proven team leadership skills and working knowledge of resident lifestyle requirements in Aged Care and continuous improvement.
- Well-developed communication skills (written and verbal) and effective interpersonal skills.
