**Who we are**
Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park is named after two of Australia’s most spectacular sites: the world-famous sandstone monolith of Uluru and the red domes of Kata Tjuta. Our dual World Heritage-listed park is in the heart of the Central Australian desert, about 450 km from Alice Springs. The land is owned by the Anangu people and leased to Parks Australia, who manage the national park in collaboration with the Traditional Owners. Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park was handed back to its Traditional Owners in 1985, the park has been jointly managed by Anangu and the Australian Government. All management policies and programs aim to maintain Anangu culture and heritage; conserve and protect the integrity of the ecological systems in and around the park; provide for visitor enjoyment and learning opportunities in the park. The Uluru-Kata Tjuta landscape is and will always be a significant place of knowledge and learning.

The Business Services Team at Parks Australia supports Anangu, staff and stakeholders in working together to effectively manage the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. The team supports other teams and builds relationships with key stakeholders, to undertake a range of administration and business management activities, such as finance, procurement and asset management.

**The Job**
The APS 6 Procurement and Asset Officer will support the Assistant Director - Business Manager in the management of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park procurement and asset management by providing detailed and accurate advice on procurement policy, procurement processes and asset management.

Duties will include:

- Providing accurate and timely support and advice to the Business Manager and UKTNP staff on procurement and asset matters, in accordance with the relevant legislation and policies
- Reviewing and/or drafting procurement related documentation including spending proposals, request for quotes, contracts and deeds of variation
- Assisting with procurement reporting obligations
- Assisting to drive continuous business improvements in relation to procurement and asset management
- Maintaining all records in the SAP Finance system.

**What we are looking for**

**Knowledge and experience**
- Strong communication and a working knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Framework and ensure compliance with all legislative and Government practices and guidelines relating to procurement and assets.
- An awareness of issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in remote locations and the ability to contribute sensitively and effectively to the joint management of the park as well as developing and supporting relationships based on mutual trust, respect and consideration of values and culture.

**Skills and capabilities**
- Self-driven and motivated, comfortable working as part of a team and with mínimal supervision
- Demonstrated ability to manage procurement and asset management processes within the Commonwealth, including knowledge of the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and related policies.
- Well-developed skills in using procurement related systems, such as SAP, AusTender and, or the ability to gain the skills.
- Demonstrated ability to live and work effectively in a small, remote community.

**Please note** that this recruitment process is advertised as both an ongoing and non-ongoing position. If an offer of non-ongoing employment is made, the successful applicant would be employed for an initial period of 12 months with the possibility of extension up to a maximum period of 3 years in total. Should a non-ongoing position become ongoing, the merit pool established through this selection process, which is valid for a period of eighteen months from the date the vacancy was advertised in the Public Service Gazette, may be used to fill the vacancy on an ongoing basis.
